Block paving comes in many different styles and sizes ranging from traditional ‘brick sized’ blocks, in concrete or clay, to larger Cobblelock paving.

These are laid onto a screed and then the gaps are filled in with kiln dried sand or larger chippings depending on gap size.

RE STABILIZING THE BLOCKS

One unfortunate drawback with this type of paving is the attraction of moss and weed to the gaps.

Block paving is generally able to be cleaned in a more aggressive manner which causes the removal of the infill sand. The blocks are allowed to dry thoroughly before the area is re sanded. The sanding is essential in order to fill the gaps and prevent the blocks bunching together.
