Your decking timber is pressure treated with a preservative chemical which provides a limited level of protection, however this does not prevent moss, lichen and algal growth from penetrating the often rough cut grooves in the majority of timber decking.

The effectiveness of the initial preservative becomes less effective through weathering and UV exposure. More water tends to be absorbed into the timber which provides an ideal environment for moss and algal growth.

Most decking isn’t used over the winter period when algae and moss can take hold and remain unnoticed from October until April. This can make the surface slippery and dangerous.

Simple preventative measures can be taken to greatly reduce this harm resulting in a more basic restoration.

Because pressure washing removes this surface contamination it provides a clean surface for the application of clear or coloured treatment.

We offer a full cleaning and restoration service for all your gardens wooden structures. This ranges from simple cleaning to brightening and re sealing. We also offer an autumn treatment to hold back the unwanted growth. Environmental washes just using pure water are also available if you have an organic garden or are concerned about your pets.
